Generation of protein producing cell lines and manufacturing at 20L scale

Bioceros uses its technology platform to generate high protein producing mammalian (primarily CHO based) cell lines for customers and manufactures batches of the recombinant proteins at 20L scale.

Typically such a program contains the following steps:

1. Cloning of DNA sequences encoding the recombinant protein in Bioceros vectors
2. Transfection of CHO cells and selection of high producing, well growing cell lines (all steps performed under serum-free conditions)
3. Subcloning of the best producing cell lines (optional)
4. Pre-clinical manufacturing of batches of recombinant protein up to 20L scale in state-of-the art disposable bioreactors
5. Purification and biochemical characterization of the product
6. In vitro characterization of the product
7. In vivo POC and toxicology studies

Each program is tailored to customers wishes.

This service, which typically takes 3 months to run steps 1 and 2 of the program, allows companies a quick start in pre-clinical and clinical product development with established CHO cell lines. Both the generation of protein producing cell lines as well as pre-clinical production of batches of recombinant protein are done under serum-free conditions. The cell lines that are generated are ready for use in a GMP facility.

Purified material can be tested in various in vitro assays, like ELISA, flow cytometry and cell-based functional assays which can be performed and/or developed by Bioceros. Furthermore Bioceros can manage and design in vivo POC experiments and animal toxicology.

Cell Biology

The cell biology team is specialized in cellular bioassays that can be used for screening purposes of molecules that influence the immune system. These bioassays can be employed in monocyte/macrophage research, but also in dendritic cell, T-cell and B-cell research. In addition, functional assays for adipogenesis studies are available. Furthermore, we can develop drug-specific potency assays to facilitate pre-clinical and clinical development.

Pre-clinical Development

Bioceros is able to provide assistance in performing relevant proof of concept studies in various animal models in order to show the potential efficacy of novel therapeutic molecules. Moreover, the Company has experience in designing and monitoring GLP-compliant safety studies.
